Program is the latest resource offering to support employee wellbeing under the DD CONNECT initiative
MILWAUKEE, WI (April 14, 2022)— GED Testing Service has partnered with Douglas Dynamics to offer the GEDWorks program. Through the GEDWorks program, Douglas Dynamics employees and their immediate family members will have access to a free, all-inclusive benefit that will offer everything they need to earn a GED credential. Douglas Dynamics is North America’s premier manufacturer and upfitter of commercial work truck attachments and equipment with operations in 12 states.
Through this new partnership, Douglas Dynamics is investing in their employees and their family members by offering access to a high school equivalency credential through the DD CONNECT initiative. Interested employees working at any location across the country and their immediate family members can sign up for the GEDWorks program.
The GEDWorks program includes everything an employee needs to prepare for and pass the GED test. Program participants have access to a bilingual personal advisor, online GED study materials in English and Spanish, practice tests, one-to-one tutoring, and free GED tests. Personal advisors are a key component of the GEDWorks program. Advisors act as coaches and motivators and hold students accountable for earning their GED credentials. The GEDWorks program also gives students access to online tools that assist with college and career planning.
Douglas Dynamics is dedicated to supporting a workforce that represents the communities it serves, while utilizing resources for the betterment of the communities where its team members live. The DD CONNECT initiative was launched in 2021 to provide additional employee health and wellness resources. In addition to the GEDWorks program, employees and their families have access to financial wellness programs and cybersecurity training sessions.
“At Douglas Dynamics, our employees are our most valuable asset. We are committed to investing in their education, offering the financial support and flexibility needed to attain the GED diploma,” said Linda Evans, Vice President of Human Resources. “We are proud to partner with GEDWorks, which represents an important component of educational opportunities available to Douglas Dynamics employees.”
The GEDWorks program is designed to meet the unique needs of working adults who aspire to earn their GED credentials. GEDWorks participants are 39% more likely to earn their diplomas than students who study on their own.
“We’re excited to partner with Douglas Dynamics to offer the GEDWorks program,” said Vicki Greene, President of GED Testing Service. “Douglas Dynamics understands the long-term impact earning a high school credential can have for an employee, their family, and their entire community.”
